Kelly’s Peppermint Bark

Peppermint Bark Recipe from my sister-in-law Kelly.  It is quick and easy to make.  Did I mention very delicious? 🙂  It is perfect as a dessert for a party or a gift.

14 ounces white chocolate
16 ounces milk or dark chocolate
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract or 1/8 teaspoon peppermint oil, divided
3 tablespoons of crushed candy canes (Kelly used Hammonds  peppermint candies because they are colored with beet juice instead of red dye)

Melt white chocolate and dark chocolate in separate bowls.  Add peppermint extract (or oil) in each bowl (half of what the recipe calls for in each bowl). Pour the dark chocolate onto the parchment lined baking sheet and use a spatula to spread it across the paper. Spoon the melted white chocolate over the dark chocolate. Use the edge of the spatula to swirl the chocolates together. Sprinkle with the crushed peppermint candies. Refrigerate until firm. Cut the bark into pieces. Enjoy! 🙂
